What's Spinning

Hope you're absolutely loving this boxset Selaws! Super jealous!!!
Its top-quality from what I have heard so far. The only issue I have found is that the A-side of the first album was recorded from a TV broadcast, and the interview segment is pretty quiet. I had to bump the volume up and when the music kicked in it almost burst my eardrums!

All in all, it's fantastic. Sun Ra is someone that I haven't listened to that much, and other than a couple of reissues this is the first proper stuff of his I have on vinyl. There's lots of different types of music on here too, from the hard-hitting avant garde, gospel, and electronic moog elements. Really enjoyable.

Is this the RSD 2020 Reissue? If so, how does the pressing sound? I really like this album and plan on picking it up but want to know if I should try and grab the RSD release or not!
It's a really nice pressing. Certainly the best of my rsd haul. I thoroughly recommend it. I also bought the 331/3 book that goes with it. An insightful and interesting read with recommendations on further listening and reading.

So as my vintage turntable off for a service I’ve amused myself with a CD link thread ...so started with Gene .. this album has a production credit to Stephen Street on a couple of tracks - that leads to Blur .. which again mr street had a hand in .. which leads to Morrissey who Street co wrote a lot of his early solo material .. which leads to Mozza and Southpaw Grammar which on this reissue has a Mick Ronson produced outtake from his previous album (typical moz) which of course leads me to David Bowie and the heaviest Ronson album “The man who sold the world “ ... where to next ?
