I didn't really care about this until this post pointing out that the versions are different and now my FOMO is all-consuming.

Stream it first and you will see (hear) what I mean.

To give you an example of just how different it is, Rumours is my girlfriend's favourite album and it gets played here LOADS. I put it on last night starting with The Chain and she came into the room and just stared off in the distance. I could tell she was trying to place it but she just couldn't. It took a few verses until it clicked, its like a completely different song.

I'm not always on board with these alternative take albums because a lot of the time they are just a way of cashing in, but with this one the approach to the tracks is so different. Easily my favourite 'alternative takes' album.

Gillian Welch - Soul Journey
Otis Redding - The Dock of the Bay

Full band Gillian Welch is still very tasty, plus one of the few disappointments of this play-through as even though the music is great I thought this was the posthumous album of Otis' but on closer inspection is just a compilation. So my complete Otis discography isn't as complete as I thought it was...
