What's Spinning

I guess it's time to start figuring out my top purchases of 2020.

Ballpark guestimate looking at Discogs is about 250 new purchases this year...more are due to arrive before the new year, but I don't think I'll have time to listen to them...although one box set I've been streaming a lot of this year is on its way to me, so that may make the list if it gets here in time.

I'll try to keep it at a top 20 - unlike last year.

Ill Considered - An Ill Considered Christmas (Ill Considered Music, 2018 White Label Test Pressing - No. 05/10)

Rather crazily I have 2 copies of this album. Not sure if its a testament to how much I love Christmas or how I order stuff without realising I already have it!

Day 17 - Defying The Sophomore Slump

De La Soul ‎– De La Soul Is Dead (Big Life, 1991 First UK Pressing)

I chose De La Soul blind from the racks and luckily it fits in with today's challenge. With such a fantastic debut, the cards were stacked against the group when it came to the follow-up, but in my opinion they certainly delivered a fantastic album which was a testament to the groups writing ability. I love the story they built up across the album, it's genius. This first UK pressing was a fantastic find this year, I bought it for £1 at a carboot and when I got home I discovered that a first pressing of '3 Feet High' was also in the jacket!
