Its crazy to me how diverse Herbie Hancock's discography is. This album SHOULD be cheesy but I actually really like it.

Yep! Looking forward to it. I hope this means Impulse! realizes there’s high interest in Alice’s back catalog. Really hope they reissue Ptah and Translinear Light (on wax).

The Don Rendell / Ian Carr Quintet - Blue Beginnings (Jazz In Britain, 2021 Limited Pressing)

A fantastic arrival turned up to my door this morning. It's such a fantastic package, I am already on my second play through!! The music on this album is taken from 2 dates that sandwich the Shades Of Blue session, so they really were in their prime. It comes with a fantastic reproduction sheet of the Shades Of Blue press release as well which is a great touch. My only disappointment is that this copy has a bowl warp that affects the A-side, but hopefully JIB can help me out with a replacement.
