I love playing Japanese Shmups and this is one of my favorites. Here's the stage 1 theme from a game called Darius Gaiden and it's honestly super sick and kinda like a weird cross between Psychedelic piano Electronic fusion. Or something like that lol.
This is a 20 extended version of the song "In the Wind" from Gradius 3 on the snes. It's actually from the first part of stage 3 lol.
This is the over world theme from a Japan only Game Boy release called For the Frog Bell Tolls. The engine use to make this game was used again later to make The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening. Both have similar features.
Basically I love midi/glitch music from old games. Once they were able to do red book audio for cd games it all changed. It's cool though that the old music is still used today for Chiptune artists.
I don't know how many times I have listened to this over the years, but I am always surprised by its twists/turns.
So good I am seriously considering purchasing a second copy for when I inevitably wear it out. Played it at least 30 times in the last 5 years, and who knows how many times its previous owner spun it (since it has no recent reissue that I am aware of).
