I was mildly aware of Nick from some soundtrack and compilation things, but this was my first full album and is still my favourite. Vivid and visceral. I've also used it to introduce others to Nick Cave, and once to prove a point when somebody was being obnoxious and moderately racist about violence in hip hop music.
