John Lennon/Yoko Ono - Double Fantasy
I recently made a conscious decision to listen to that album in full start to finish again as I’d been very guilty of skipping all the Yoko tracks after reading about their tracks were an answer to each other’s songs ...a call a d response almost ...and I have to say it made it a much more rewarding listen ...by the end of Hard Times are Over I was quite emotional knowing what came next ....belated respect to the Yoko

I might have told this story before (maybe on the old vmp forum) but it seems relevant now. It’s actually the first time I’d ever listened to it. Outside the first two and the singles I’d always been a bit ambivalent to solo Lennon. I recently bought them all second hand on one of my crazy second hand Japanese import buys!
I didn’t know that but it’s definitely the album of theirs that she’s involved in that her songs feel less grating and more a part of the whole.
Amazing comp, a bit crackly as in my drunken youth I thought the vinyl was as indestructible as my 1210's.
Giving a spin to side a, with Funk/Cross the tracks/Expresss yourself & if you want me to stay. Same quality across all 4 albums, great comp. Very surprised to see the price sticker as £17.99 (for 4 lp's),
