Im at the point in my Brit jazz deep dive where I have entered the Tubby Hayes Fontana years. This means dipping into both OG pressings and the fantastic reissues from the Gearbox Tubby Hayes Fontana box set. I have typically been playing these records on repeat anyway so this way I can alternate. Just a killer killer killer introduction to the series, with Tubby jumping from full power to laid-back ballads, tenor sax to vibes. Great stuff.
