1970 US Capital Records Club pressing. Not usually my thing but I dug this out of free stack of highly abused country LPs. Only 3 out of 100 or so survived the mistreatment.
How this one survived in solid VG+ condition is a mystery. But Loretta Lynn is a survivor so I snagged it and cleaned it up.
Bob Marley - Catch A Fire (Jamaican Version)
Orchestre Laye Thiam / Orchestre Saf Mounadem
Al Green - Gets Next To You
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Neil Young - Carnegie Hall
Leadbelly - Huddie Ledbetter's Best
Manzanita y Su Conjunto
Dexter Gordon - Go
Richard & Linda Thompson - Sunnyvista
SW2 & Moses Boyd
I haven't posted in this thread for a good while (not really sure why - laziness, I think) so need a bit of a catch-up. Next 50 or so records are all my new purchases from my recent UK trip. Back to spinning from my the shelves tomorrow.
They're all great but highlights include the wonderful Jamaican version of Catch A Fire, and the first recording on wax of what would become Orchestre Baobab...
Muriel Grossmann - Union
Maria McKee - High Dive
Little Simz - Curious
Lou Reed - Transformer
Charles Mingus - The Clown
Fela Kuti - Open and Close
Prince - Parade
Al Green - Explores Your Mind
Eric Dolphy - Out To Lunch
Soul Slabs Vol 3
More headed by three fabulous women - one of my albums of the year from Muriel Grossmann, a just stunning sounding reissue from Maria McKee, and a wonderful PIF from @Murfocakes of Little Simz who is up there for album of the year too. And everything else is sensational as well.
