Long term members of VMP, especially those pre-swaps, will know well the feeling of getting an album you’re not really into, and that you wouldn’t have picked on your free will. This is a Last Night From Glasgow equivalent for me.
Electro pop, but it just doesn’t click with me. All this does is make me want to listen to Franz Ferdinand.
All flared denim, tight leather jackets, 70’s haircuts, this. Never more than their influences, but great fun. Surprised to see this in Spektrum Records in Wichita. The first band to have a decent run in this play through, so more to come…

Some absolutely fantastic African music here including one of Baobab's best, awesome stuff from Benin's second-best band (Black Santiago), and what I think is probably the first African record I bought a decade or so ago (Tabu Ley Rochereau). Plus the wonder that is the Cure's greatest hits - which inspired me to check out if they were due to play Oslo this year, and thus buy tickets to an October gig. Hoping this is going to be a fab music year...
Having to start work up again is rough but at least I've got music to help me through. Spinning one of my secret Santa gifts from @cbl who did a masterful job!
Cinematic Orchestra; Live at the Royal Albert Hall;
I had actually forgotten I own this. When I collected my brother to travel to my parents for Christmas, he returned six records he'd had for so long, I was still married when he took them off me. It's nice to have it back.
