One of my all-time fave bands. Saw them at least 20+ times back in the day, as I lived in LA during their time together, and would see them every chance I got. Got to meet d. boon once, at a cafe after a show of theirs at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica. He was so incredibly nice. R.I.P.

You can tell I'm reaching the end of my playthrough (at least the non-African part)! Alan Bennett is somebody whose voice I could listen to all day. It helps these are three stories that I can (and do) listen to. Such great language.

Late on this, but I'm with you both. For some reason they decided their guitars should sound like ass instead of amazing! (Also the lineup turnover after Y&G didn't help, and then again after Purple.) I find Gold & Grey practically unlistenable, though part of that is the mix.

this makes me very happy to hear...I enjoyed their first album, but this one is really something else. and as wonderful as the music is, my favorite aspect of the album may be the production, as it really feels like listening to a live, intimate performance and anything less than a great pressing would be doing this album and its production a serious disservice.
