The MoFi is a stunner but that one is definitely no slouch, it’s actually what I have lined up next. I’ve been working my way through all my Beatles albums and comparing the different versions lately…

This is actually the one album where they’re all so different that it’s really difficult to say. All three are also really nice pressings. The 50th is a complete revision of the stereo mix and it actually sounds much closer to the mono than the original stereo, which is what the MoFi uses. The original stereo mix is right out there in terms of cross panning etc. In terms of sq and mastering? The MoFi maybe pips it, but they’re all really good!

How is this? Good, GREAT, just OK?

I would say really good, not quite essential. It’s not a huge a difference from streaming sound quality, but it does sound nice on vinyl and no issues with the pressing. I’m happy to have it overall!
