I wasn't expecting much from this one but every song surprised me in a great way. It's very diverse musically and a really fun listen. It gave me the same feeling I got the first time I listened to Los Campesinos! We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. I was in an airport somewhere in Brazil drinking incredibly overpriced beer waiting on a delayed flight home and I got a lit listening to the album and momentarily forgot where I was since it absorbed my attention so well.

just realized that new track "Ann" is a Stooges cover..

regarding Goody Gumdrops, that's just a vinyl release of the live stream they did last year from their barn, right?

looks like they're doing and encore this Saturday for $1.00

I think it has songs from the whole documentary they did, with a couple from the barn which I think was the last part of it. A few of the tracks are from Deep States, just with more of an edge imo. The order and versions of the songs on this one just do it for me a lot more than Deep States, even though I like that one too it just didn't hit like this one for me.

Missing them live in a couple of weeks. Gutted.
 
Sponge - Rotting Piñata
This is the new MOV pressing, and it sounds good but I can't remember if it's any better than the WARGOD pressing. I'll have to do an A/B comparison one day. Either way it's a great album, although I do think on this one that it could sound a bit better with a little tinkering on the mix. The vocals are just too muddy at times. Like on the title track they sound like they're coming from the other room, then they clean up on Giants.
