What's Spinning

I got this to see how this "new" cut from Cameron Henry at Welcome To 1979 compared to my other United pressing from 2006. My 1997 reissue is better than that - but this album really isn't that audiophile to begin with. Just needs to have as little surface noise as possible....something United has a hard time with.

Definitely needed a cleaning prior to first spin.

I think the recent Picture Disc reissue is probably a lateral move compared to this United pressing....it's not bad, just don't need another copy of it.

So, is 1979 quite a bit better than the United or are they both kind of meh?

I haven't listened to the other United pressing from in a while, but I'll do a comparison sometime soon. The 1997 reissue is my go to listen copy, so I'll compare it to that, too.

This one sounded pretty good to me. It really needed a cleaning, and would probably be better just not being a United pressing.
