Jesus - it's already been a year since we lost Charlie Watts.
Charlie Watts was solid. Solid in every facet of his life. Rock solid drummer. Solid dresser. A solid family man, married in 1964 and with the same woman until his death.
In contrast to all the other Stones' shit, Charlie was always the classy shine.

I love these guys....another great Cartwright vehicle. They broke up, but I am going to see Cartwright's earlier band, Compulsive Gamblers in Detroit on Sunday as part of a Detroit Cobras/Rachel Nagy tribute. Pretty excited.

Coming up to what would have been Fats Navarro's 99th birthday. Its quite interesting mapping out the chain of influence he created, influencing Clifford Brown, who in turn influenced Lee Morgan, etc.
