What's Spinning

Kinda maligned, definitely underappreciated, I find Coda to be a lotta fun.

We're Gonna Groove is raw psych-rock bliss.

Poor Tom is a top shelf LZIII leftover that easily couldn't have been a leftover.

I Can't Quit You puts you in the front row in '70.

Blasphemy aside, Bonzo's Montreux is much more fun to listen to than Moby Dick.

Wearing And Tearing is a finely crafted, hopped up, punk frenzy.

This record is a showcase of John Bonham's power and versatility. If you've never given it a chance, it deserves one.

Led Zeppelin - Coda

When our kids were middle school age, I used to take them and their friends to a lot of shows. Sometimes it was like herding cats, but they loved live music and I was proud to enable them to scratch that itch.

I let them choose the shows and, while it was usually a band I wouldn't go see on my own, I had as much fun as they did. But one show - boy did I get a payoff.

It was a triple bill. All American Rejects and Alkaline Trio were kinda co-headliners. These guys were the opener. Ho-lee shit. In my book, they blew them - and me - away.

Always go see the opening band...
