But why?
Because I unironically love this album. But why?
Like the whole album? I am genuinely curious how someone decides they genuinely love this entire album. Like, Europop was never my thing so I was never a fan of “Barbie Girl” but I know that song was incredibly Popular, but I would assume that the biggest fans of that song probably don’t love the entire album. It feels like they type of song best enjoyed as part of a burned CD with Like Venga Boys, Eiffel 65, etc..Because I unironically love this album.
Anyways I am gonna have “Barbie Girl” stuck in my head for the rest of the day from just seeing this photo.
I'd say Barbie Girl is one of my least favorite songs on the album. And other than this album I can't stand most Europop. But this album came out when I lived in South America as a kid and Ace of Base was still dominating the airwaves there, so I didn't get much radio exposure to good music except when I'd load up on our yearly trip back to the US. I mostly listened to Oasis, Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, etc.Like the whole album? I am genuinely curious how someone decides they genuinely love this entire album. See, I knew there was a good story around this. Thanks for sharing!I'd say Barbie Girl is one of my least favorite songs on the album. And other than this album I can't stand most Europop. But this 20 year old guy from Florida moved near where we lived and had exactly two CDs. This one and Sublime (weird combo). For some reason my mom trusted this dude and would let him borrow her car, so we'd hang out and he'd buy me beer we'd cruise around drinking cheap beer and listening to those CDs on repeat. So it's probably more the memories I associate with it than the music itself, but I know the whole damn thing by heart and every couple of years I play it a bunch then don't listen to it for years again.
Good story. I thought you were just overly excited for the new Barbie movie coming out.I'd say Barbie Girl is one of my least favorite songs on the album.
