meg iredale - Live from the 44

One of the worst things about being dropped by this wicked head cold today is that she's playing in town tonight and I am absolutely not up for going. :(

This is my first time hearing her new music, which is a completely different sound from the acoustic, sometimes dark, indie folk used to write and play. After 8 or 9 years away from making music, I'm thrilled she's back to it!

Full disclosure, meg is basically my sister and has been for nearly twenty years now despite the decade between us. We've worked together, performed together, toured together, lived together and cried together through the years. Since she started living in Mayne Island full time a few years back, we haven't seen as much of each other as either of us would like but I did get to visit with her over dinner for the first time in nearly three years when my wife and I were over on Mayne Island a couple weeks back, so I can take solace in that despite missing the show tonight.
