Willie Nelson - I Don’t Know A Thing About Love: The Songs of Harlan Howard

A bit of non-fill on the Streets of Baltimore.

Interesting note and I really need to a-b the digital, it may just be that this was a more critical listen (even if not in the seat), but one thing I was struck by this album earlier in the year was how good Willie sounded. I even surmised that this may have been recorded over the years. However, I don’t believe that to be the case after hearing the vinyl. It is definitely recent, but he does sound better than he has in years. I wonder if he just did more takes to offer a better tribute.

Oasis - The Masterplan

So this doesn’t always sound like everything is turned to 11…

There is some musical detail in there, you can pick out some instruments lower in the mix and it even sounds well recorded and mastered in places. Of course the first album stuff is still a musical soup (the original drummer couldn’t keep time…) but I’m both confused by and kinda enjoying an oasis release that isn’t always brickwalled to fuck…

Depending on the day this might be my favorite Oasis album
