Archie Shepp - The Cry Of My People (Impulse!, 2023 Vinyl Me Please Exclusive Pressing)

I haven't shared anything on this thread in ages, but rest assured I've been listening to a lot of music! Today I had the chance to listen to a couple of the Impulse/VMP series, with Sun Ra being the first on the table and this one being the second! Fantastic releases!

I should check it out. The first time I ever saw them was opening for Our Lady Peace at an arena show and I thought they were awful - which was disappointing being a huge fan of their recorded work. I saw them again 2 or 3 years later playing an 1100ish capacity nightclub and it was so much better than that first time. Got to do a meet and greet at that one too, and Art was so lovely to everyone in the green room. Somewhere in a box at my folks place I have my ticket stub he signed.

I can’t imagine u will b disappointed in the album. Sounds good. Pressing quiet. Music rocks.
