What's Spinning

Btw, now that I've listened to the whole album this one has jumped high up on my best of the year list. Well worth a listen, especially to the b-side tracks.

Stupify tells me it came out last year 🤔

Kids have been up for 2 hours, don’t feel like I got an extra hour, Primus kind of Sunday morning 🍄! Saw this tour at my first and only Bonnaroo.

Primus sucks.

Playing this for another thread but it's sorely underappreciated and sadly timely.

Tom Robinson has always been a champion of the oppressed as well as being one of the first openly gay musical artists. He put it all out there in 1977. He has absolutely no fear. Tom's music revolves around eroding human rights and standing up for the marginalized. He deserves so much more recognition than he gets.

Three songs from this record.

PSA: the first video uses the N word spoken in character by someone who minimizes African-Americans.

Tom doesn't attempt to hide his anger and disdain in the second clip.

The third clip is just a fun, rocking song.

If this is your introduction to Tom Robinson, I encourage you to dig deeper and channel his strength and passion for the next four years.

He's had a radio show in the UK for at least a decade. It's great, and he's spent that time playing a lot of up and coming artists.

Or he did! Think he left it recently.

Whether he does or did, Tom Robinson is a fucking treasure and an important figure in music.

This is an artist everyone here needs to know.

Just so happens the lowest price Discogs copy of the of US/UK/Japan/Canada pressings is being sold by a guy from Vancouver I've bought from a few times now who is coming over for a record show in a week and a half. It's a copy that will likely leave me wanting an upgrade down the line, but for $5, hand delivered, I'm good with that.

I haven't even had a chance to check outbthe videos you posted yet but now I'm just gonna wait until I can spin it later this month. Looking forward to checking it out!
