What's Spinning

I don’t disagree but offer up two counterpoints…

1. Betty Davis!

2. Would we talk about Ike if it weren’t for Tina?

I don't really understand where any counterpoint can come into play when you're talking about men who physically and psychologically abuse and control women.

You can like their music and separate the person from the art, but I don't see where anything can justify those means.

1. As for Betty, in his autobiography, Miles said Betty was "too young and wild" (he married her knowingly 18 years her senior), and accused her of having an affair with Jimi Hendrix, which hastened the end of their marriage. Betty denied the affair, stating: "I was so angry with Miles when he wrote that. It was disrespectful to Jimi and to me. Miles and I broke up because of his violent temper."

2. ????? A wife beating piece of shit is a wife beating piece of shit whether he's in the public eye or not.

They were both pieces of shit (like a lot of musicians unfortunately). Seemingly Betty got the better of Miles and there is a certain poetic justice to the fact that Ike is a footnote in musical history because the Woman he abused outshone him:

So, you were actually making supporting points, not counterpoints as stated.

I feel much better.
