Cheap Trick is my brother’s favorite band. I don’t think he gave me any of these, I collected them myself out of nostalgia. He had a poster of the flame framed. His fish tank was under it and he would flip the hood light over to illuminate the poster.

Also fun fact. Robin Zander dated/married (?) a girl whose family lived up the road from us, so he would be there on holidays I guess. My brother gave them our number and one Easter he called, my brother went up there chatted and got some stuff signed.

Even though I love the Pixies and felt similarly about The Breeders, sometimes things fall through the cracks. I just recently learned of this album’s existence. It’s Kim Deal’s follow up to Last Splash with a one off band she formed while twin sister and Breeders bandmate Kelley Deal sought treatment for heroin addiction. Also, it’s fucking awesome. A bit rougher and lo-fi than The Breeders while still applying catchy hooks throughout.
