This trio of orchestral movements chronicling a mother's loss of her son is deeply moving. Maybe the darkest opening string bows I've come across. Beth Gibbons was the right vocal choice here, and might even top Stefania Woytowicz's performance from the original 1976 symphonic recording.
I've had this since last June without giving it a play.
