What's Spinning

1. This is a nice pressing.
2. I like the mix, but was really only familiar with Roundabout enough to notice the changes.

Wondering how those that know it better feel about it? Hey @LeeVing did you pick this up?
I can't remember who said it on here, but what Wilson does that I like so much about his mixes, is he manages to make prog not sound so dated. He doesn't change a ton, but what he does do makes them sound like a thin veneer has been stripped. The box set of these is pretty much the only thing I've sold that I regretted. Getting these breakouts is fun. But I'm more a fan of Wilson than Yes, his work on them just makes me appreciate them more.

@TenderLovingKiller® after watching that Yacht Rock doc, I would like Wilson to take a hand at Toto. Their story was what I found most fascinating about that doc. I'd actually like to read more about them now.

Yeah, I was shocked to learn that were the “go to” session musicians from that era. I have always enjoyed their singles but have never dove much deeper than that. I’ve been meaning to dig a bit deeper but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I don’t know Roundabout sounds more like a straight up remix, the levels are different. From reading about it, I get the feeling that most people think he was a little more heavy handed than usual here. (I have no idea if it’s the album or whole series)

I’ve not watched the doc but i always thought they were like a Sessions Musicians supergroup. I remember wanting to like the music more than I did after finding that out. Maybe Wilson could help them but I don’t think it’s the production or performance, I think with a few exceptions here or there - the material just isn’t very good.
