What's Spinning

OGs sound really good with the simple demands of JP’s music.

The new Anniversary 75 does sound stunning. Close ur eyes with JP in the music room good at times. Little details come through kind of unexpected. I have several other versions to geek out to so I am planning to compare them one of these days. However, Ur right that the record has always sounded pretty good.

Such a great songwriter. I saw JP twice. Once in a college arts center w/ Bonnie Raitt. They played the encore together. Then JP stayed for a couple hrs after the show signing albums in a line that seemed to include the majority of the audience. No one was turned away.

Edit: After being one of the last in the line my girlfriend handed him “my” album and he then proceeded to autograph it personalized to her…what was I to do. The only solution. I married her. :-).

John was truly a national treasure. Saw him pre throat surgery and post. His spirit wasn’t diminished but his vocalization took a toll singing an octave lower. You know, having experienced him live, he was one of your kind, a friend. Simply beautiful human being.

12” Singles A-Z #11
IMG_0208.jpegRonnie actually said this, in jest of course, but the thought was/is chilling. Bootsy and Jerry Harrison. 45 FTW Bootsy’s usual loose, rubber band sound is menacingly metallic and rigid to the point of “hit yo head wit it”.
