Although a big fan I had not been anticipating the new Lower Dens album The Competition as feverishly as I had their previous albums released after the amazing debut Twin Hand Movement. Their third and most recent album Escape from Evil is already four years old and I had not enjoyed it nearly as much as the debut and Nootropics. I was wrong to count them out! The Competition is great, their most accessible but also everything that I love about Jana Hunter's songwriting and voice are at the forefront and crystal clear.
