What's Spinning

Booksmart - Music From The Motion Picture (2019) - Picked this up over the weekend ... This was an Urban Outfitters exclusive, which they currently have on clearance, and they are (were) also offering an additional 40% off on top of that, so I got it for under $10... The soundtrack to one of my favorite films of the year, with songs by Jurassic 5, Perfume Genius, Cautious Clay, Discovery, Lykke Li, Lizzo and more ... My only issue is that the cover has fake ringwear as part of the album art and it took me (and the cashier) awhile to figure out that they were supposed to look like that

This was going to be my third week of clues for the November ROTM. I had planned to do a crossover of clues between here and the AOTM thread. Let's see if you can guess the common theme between all of these(although now that you know what it is, you'll probably guess it right away...)

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#67: Miles Davis - Nefertiti

My favorite Miles record. Wayne's compositions on this album are some of his finest, and the performances have so much energy and focus. Plus, the "time, no changes" approach to the title track is so forward-looking. To this day, after hearing it a ton of times, it blows my mind.
