Very cool contemporary jazz album that manages to sound fresh and vital while having a sense of nostalgia due to the large scale (nonet) setting. Reminiscent at times of ‘70s Don Ellis or Lalo Schifrin. Good recommendation from @Poly-Rythmo - cheers!

I agree...and it is one of my favorite Zappa/Mothers albums. While it got a great critical response, people don't seem to have it high on their Zappa/Mothers list of favorites.

I'll throw mine on after Aretha is over.
