Miles Davis – Jazz Track (Columbia, 1958 First '6-eyed' Mono pressing)
This is an interesting release from Miles. The first side consists of cuts from the score to 'Ascenseur pour l'échafaud', a french movie Miles provided the score for. These were originally only released on 10" and this was the first time they appeared on an 'album'. The second half is tracks from a completely unrelated date. The side-men from this date was the same as for 'Kind Of Blue' (apart from Wynton Kelly) but it was deemed that the session didn't provide enough usable material for a stand-alone album so it was bundled with the tracks from the movie score.
