Miles Davis - Live Evil

F*ck, this sounds so good. I'm home alone so have the volume turned up to 11 and my speakers are smoking. Hard to believe this is the 43rd Miles Davis album I've got (thanks again Secret Santa @dhodo) and every bit as exciting as the first one.

What I can after this and Straight Life (and Miles Davis' Live in Europe 1969) is how much I love Jack DeJohnette's drumming. His drum solo on side 2 is so funky and savage, and got me playing the air drums like a teenager just now! Increasingly, I feel like drums are the instrument I respond to more than any other - explaining, for instance, why I've fallen so hard for a lot of modern jazz. Great to give my system a real workout too...
