Finally fixing the glaring omission of Daft Punk in my collection. Their stuff is usually overpriced when I see it, but this was $18 at B&N today, so I went for it. Solid album!

If you like the label I bet you would enjoy it. Centers on acoustic guitar and singer. Some tasteful accompaniment. Sucked me in right away. Recording ok sounds fine. Pressing, just a few ticks in my copy. Not to distracting. Stream it and give it a shot.

Gestu de Dakar - Diabar

Syllart is one of Senegal's main and most storied record labels. I don't know the full story but they've suddenly started putting out reissues. The big one with Orchestre Baobab is coming next month but this by Gestu de Dakar, who I hadn't heard of before, is amazing as well. It's got that typically hypnotic, almost Islamic, feel to the vocals and intoxicating music.

Just checked and according to whoever made the listing for my version on discogs, those flexis were randomly inserted into 100 across all Topshelf variants. If true, I guess we both got lucky!
