John Coltrane - Coltrane Jazz (Atlantic, 1354, 1969 reissue)
Just one track here featuring McCoy but it’s a goodie. Aside from being a great pianist in his own right, he seems to have brought out the best in other players too, even those as great as JC who absolutely wails on Village Blues.
The Motown box set taught me a huge about the label. It was a real eye opener. I mean, prior to finally getting around to listening to it I had no idea they should have shut the offices in the early 70s. These albums are pure and unadulterated shite.
