Take a couple days off and this thread just keeps moving on.....Digging in for a few hrs of Sunday spins. I need to go back and listen to the older Atlas but I am really liking this new one by Real Estate so far. Side one is pressed well and sounds good.
Oh, we spinnin’ tapes now... Dr. Dre - The Chronic I am very happy with this revelation. I have slowly been putting together a decent tape collection over the last couple years. Mainly because I purchased a 1991 Subaru that had a working tape deck, sadly it died this past summer but my tape collecting is still going strong. Mrs. TenderLovingKiller got me a nice little Sony boombox for Christmas but I haven’t really given it ago...until today after being inspired by @brownsugah and @dirty hands.
Despite the 80s sound at times, this is a great album. I was long curious why it cropped up on best of lists and glad i checked it out a few years ago.
Dedicating today's spins (taking today off) to exclusively female artists.
Laurie Spiegel - The Expanding Universe[95/250]
3xLP reissue
Awe-inspiring what was possible to be created from synthesizers in the mid-70s. Spacey, atmospheric, boundary-pushing new age music.
This reissue includes the original album on LP1, and bonus music across her discography on LP2 and LP3. The third LP contains precursors to drone music! ~135 min of music altogether, should be a nice couple hours ahead.
