The music is amazing Nigerian funk from the 1970s. The vocals are OK but a little grating in parts, as sadly female vocals in Africa of this time often are for me. Not sure why they sang in this quite child-like way as it sort of detracts from the music, IMO.
Not *those* Doves, but instead some earlier Nigerian ones. This is a great album with an almost reggae vibe to it. After saying I don't have much Nigerian music, I see actually I have quite a bit!
Admittedly, I have only listened to this 3 times fully across 6 years (when I first heard it). Not sure if I enjoy it as much as other dream pop records.
