Blossom Dearie - Needlepoint Magic, Volume 5 (Daffodil Records/Master Mix, 1979 First UK Signed Pressing)

Picked this up for 20p at a carboot a while ago and when I got home realised that it was signed by blossom.

Smile ‎– Gettin' Smile (Mercury, 1982 First Pressing)

For those that dont know Smile were pre-Queen (with Brian May providing vocals and guitar, Roger Taylor on drums, and Tim Staffell on bass and vocals) and the material on this album was the amongst the first the group recorded. Staffell was basically the precursor to Freddie Mercury, and he didnt record much more after leaving the group. It sat on the shelves for many years until 1982 when it was released on vinyl in Japan only. Its actually a fantastic album, well worth listening to!

I can feel myself falling down the Queen rabbit hole today. Interesting to hear some of the songs on this appearing as early versions on the 'Smile' album I played before this. This copy has an old news article glued to the inner sleeve plus a bigger photo of the group on the other side.
