Clarence Clarity - No Now
Bella Union repress (2019)
This really is an amazing record. With everything going on production-wise and the length, you’d think there’d be at least a couple missteps. But nope, somehow everything works. Thanks again for this one, @gaporter !
Saturday morning spin. Listened a lot to this when my mother passed. Fittingly as the lyrics really circle around themes of love, loss and grief. Beautiful and life-affirming stuff.
Mandolin Orange - Tides of a Teardrop (Yep Roc, 2019)
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Mustt Mustt
Bob Dylan - Time Out Of Mind
I think Mustt Mustt was the first non-British/American album I bought, just after it came out in 1990. Love it to this day, especially for opening my ears to what music could be. And one of Bob's best.
Fairport Convention - Unhalfbricking
Gnonnas Pedro - I Feel Alright
More wonders courtesy of Fairport and Sandy Denny and their greatest song (but, damn - again it's a 4MWB press). And great funk from Benin even if the James Brown impression is a bit much.
