You Want How Much?!

Have y’all seen the shipping rates from Russia?

I was looking at this listing because I am considering getting the Sade box set and I am thinking of selling this copy to fund the box. I noticed the couple of listings from the Russian Federation with crazy shipping. Sign of the times I guess.

I don't want to sound like I'm against charities as I'm not and spend my fair share of time digging in them, but certain ones here in the UK are a joke. Oxfam is one of the culprits. I would say they go on discogs and just price from the highest sold, but in many cases they actually list records considerably higher than any have sold for before. In this case I think they went on Discogs and saw that none had ever sold, saw the 1 mad listing for £85, and decided it must be incredibly rare.

I was on their website today and came across this gem. One of a million Louis Armstrong comps that have been released over the years (and not a particularly good one at that by the looks of it). I searched Ebay sold listings and it hasn't even sold on there recently, despite the several listings with very low starting prices (none that I saw had a bid).

Considering they get these for free as donations and are tax-exempt, it's a bit of a cheek.

I think Goodwill does something similar in the states.

Sorry/not sorry for outing Oxfam again.

First pressing of Oasis - Definitely Maybe. Certainly rare but this copy isn't mint (creases in the spine are listed) but they want £250 for it. A VG+ recently sold for £150 (4 days ago).

Oh and first pressing of Bob Downes - Open Music. They want £140 for it (with a scratch) despite the fact that it averages at £70 on Discogs. BUT it does come with anti-static inner so theres that....

Bill Evans himself comes back from the great beyond and gives it to you, signs it and calls you a real hip cat while doing the finger guns and walking back through the veil into the grave again

Are we talking a Kanye delivering Kim's dad in hologram form kind of thing here because not gonna lie if I had that 1% $$$$$ i'd happily pay insane rates for hologram versions of artists playing entire albums. I'd just let those holograms play outside all night as a tribute to my neighbor having a flood light facing my bedroom window the last few months.. I'd even start with Tom Petty for the pettiness of it all.

I think you need to buy a bb gun.

Just scrolling through Discogs and eBay. Does every f'in record - no matter the condition - start at $45? I'm about ready to stop buying used vinyl until the bottom falls out of the market (and people get conned into believing that CDs are the next big thing). Right now, there is no such thing as a vinyl deal.

Lately people seem to think the value of vinyl only goes up regardless of condition.
