A week with many strong new releases. The Celeste album is exceptionally great, also Arlo Parks, The Notwist and Goat Girl have released very strong new records. The Cobalt Chapel is interesting too.

Apart from that I've been enjoying some vinyl, especially the Emancipation box set by Prince.

RIP to SOPHIE, of course ❤️.
I'm thinking this Celeste album will be to me for the beginning of the year what Jessie Ware was at the end of last year. Lots of other intriguing current year releases, especially Piana, Divide and Dissolve, and Rhye. Portrayal of Guilt's, while exciting and relentless (and certainly not for everyone), is way too short. Loving the recent LITA Japanese leftfield pop compilation...really really good. New album from Weezer was much better than I expected. A few spins and random recommendations otherwise.

I usually only do a 3x3 but I listened to more music this week than I have in months so I wanted to celebrate that a bit. Between the February Challenge thread, listening to the grammy AOTY noms and vibing with playlists of early 2010 rock, I had a great week listening to music!

Love that you had a great week listening to music and did the 5x5 tap. Lots of great albums in your list. 🙂

I also did a 5x5 this week as I was listening to a lot of music. We had freezing temperatures of down to - 14 (about 7 degrees Fahrenheit) here the last days and I avoided going outside.
So I did listen to a lot of Dua Lipa and Mariah Carey this week, also finally to Poppy who I think I first saw mentioned by @gaporter. Poppy Computer is a fun album.
Of new releases I really like The Weather Station release. I've ordered it on silver vinyl from their bandcamp site as that was cheaper than buying it in Germany. Also the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets album is great. Ashnikko is growing on me, thanks again to @Fleetwood-Matt for recommending. Apart from that some vinyl releases I like a lot.

If Abba were combined, the first Watkins Family Hour Album would be in at number nine.

I’ve been listening to The Opus podcast and I’m on the Bridge season. I’ve really fallen in love with the album as a result of the podcast. I mean I knew it was great, but context is everything.

The new Staves is a grower.

Abba is my 33 1/3 read this month.

Nickel Creek is cause I finally picked up the reissues.

I really like the Fraites.

the rest is stuff Spotify has been like you should listen to this and obliged (not saying any of it is unknown to me, lol)

Glad you are digging her!

Some more of last week's releases. Despite some people loving the album here, I'm not nearly as high on The Weather Station's Ignorance as those people, although it is still good. However, I am very high on the Black Country, New Road hype...probably in my top5 for the year at the moment. I am much more in favor of the new Hayley Williams compared to her release from last year. Medicine at Midnight was an absolute slog...can't believe I listened to it twice. Got around to a few esoteric albums not listed here as well. Otherwise, some more vinyl spins.

I completely agree to your impression of the Foo Fighters album.

You have exquisite taste. And I credit you fully for introducing me to the amazingness that is Lingua Ignota. 💜

My week was weird, nostalgic, and dancey. Yep, it’s me.
