Nothing like the whole building fire alarm going off for an hour while it's tropical cyclone conditions outside and the fire department is stumped on how to turn it off. Good times.
Alan Sparhawk's first album since his wife, Mimi Parker, passed away from cancer in 2022 (and the subsequent ending of their band Low), is dropping Friday. As a huge fan of Low, I am highly anticipating the album. But it's going to be emotional.. The Fall playlist is out. Aimee Mann, The National, Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo, Nickel Creek, Neil Young, Smog and other seasonal favs back in rotation. Jazz hits especially great this time of year too, especially Baker, Davis, and Evans.
