I've found that 93% of the people that come over to my house aren't interested in throwing records on. That's why I hang out here.Like I want to always have something to put on regardless of who was at my place
Yeah, it’s my daughter and my father-in-law everyone else could care less.I've found that 93% of the people that come over to my house aren't interested in throwing records on. That's why I hang out here.
Yeah, and that number would be way higher if I wasn't insistent on them picking something if they even show the slightest bit of interest.Yeah, it’s my daughter and my father-in-law everyone else could care less.
Does anybody have the Four Women box and can comment on quality? Id say the VMPs will probably sound better given RKS and AAA...Swap Wild is the Wind for I Put A Spell on You and you’ve got a deal.
Actually @bdm105. If I had no Nina I’d hang fire and skip the VMP run and see if you can find the Four Women box on offer anywhere. That should fully sort your Nina needs
I will say the Speakers Corner Nina Sings the Blues pretty handily smokes the VMP RKS, which kinda surprised me.Does anybody have the Four Women box and can comment on quality? Id say the VMPs will probably sound better given RKS and AAA...
@bdm105 i'd say you should pick up a Nina live album (I think VMP actually did a live album at one point? not sure if you have that one...). But she was so talented live and gave such great performances.
I grabbed the bundle. Baltimore is arguably worth it for the title track alone.
believe that earlier RKS VMP was from digital sources. i might have to get the Speakers Corner though...I will say the Speakers Corner Nina Sings the Blues pretty handily smokes the VMP RKS, which kinda surprised me.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense, that's pretty much what it sounds like when I compare the two. Much more depth and detail on the SCbelieve that earlier RKS VMP was from digital sources. i might have to get the Speakers Corner though...

Which Philips box? I think there was a CD box but no vinyl version of this one? Think Kevin Reeves cut this new boxHi, how's it going? I'm assuming the four women box is a repackaging of the Phillips box from a few years back? Although it could be a new mastering, they are probably using the same metal work. I had a few breakouts. from that set and while they sounded really good, nothing like the AP or SC Nina titles that I have.
Just as an FYI, the referrals may not go through until after your renewal goes through so keep an eye on it. But you can always transfer any/all of it to store credit or try to get it refunded off your membershipIf the Nina or Q1 ROTMs moved the needle for anyone on joining, I’m up for renewal this month (payment on Dec. 31) and would love to refer a friend to get some cash against the cost of renewal.![]()

This one:Which Philips box? I think there was a CD box but no vinyl version of this one? Think Kevin Reeves cut this new box
From what I can see, that set was cut at Abbey Road from digital transfers, but Kevin Reeves cut the Four Women box. Pretty sure they are completely different cuts.

Wtf VMP? Smooth Jazz, Warm nights, holidays! Then nothing’s smooth or holiday oriented. Plus there is no way in hell anything I order today gets to me before December 25.
