Movies

Heat is probably my favorite movie and for some reason I never saw Thief which is weird since I also love James Caan. You should definitely check it out. It's the blueprint for what was to come from Mann.

Tonight's 90s Essential Movies rewatch. It's ridiculous how great Minnie Driver was in the 90s.

Great movie, fantastic soundtrack!

Saw Mickey 17 yesterday; overall I liked it, and it was about as messy and overstuffed as an English-language Bong is sure to be.

Ruffalo was the weak link from my perspective; the guy was kinda hammy, but I think he shoulda turned the Ham Dial all the way up until the arrow bent and springs flew out. There's a weirdness to how he's obviously doing a Trump thing (loathe to call it an impression), but hedging rather than going whole hog. Like, strip away any of the Trump affectations, and who is the character? Felt like watching Chunky on Dan Vega's Mega Money Quiz.

Seeing online rumors that Criterion Collection will have a 50% off flash sale tomorrow.
I have a few codes floating around my inbox, it may be time to add to the old collection. Tough part is finding something I like which I haven't seen that many times. What I'd really like is to pull the trigger on a film I've never seen, but that's such a dice roll. 3 Women is one I've seen twice and love (though I'm bashful that I always opt for Altman on my sale picks), Badlands is one I don't know as well but recall liking, Seconds is one I saw once and feel I didn't quite process. But a blind pick would be fun.

eta: Maybe since I groaned at the Sorcerer announcement since I already have a(n okay) copy, I should try Wages of Fear, a movie I've never actually seen

Wages Of Fear is amazing and better (and more suspenseful) than Sorcerer imo
