Jesus, this is even more depressing than initially thought.

We were just talking about this

How I imagine things going was that she is basically Hackmans caretaker. He had Alzheimer’s and a pacemaker so she dies from the hantavirus respiratory infection but Hackman is too addled to seek help for her or himself (or feed his dog) and likely didn’t take the medication or depending on his state, he may not have eaten or drank enough to sustain himself leading to his heart giving out.

Who knows how close that scenario was to the truth but it’s such a sad way to go.

I'm hopeful that he wasn't aware of what was going on due to his Alzheimer's and he slipped away not knowing what had happened to her. I can only imagine the panic, confusion, and feeling of being abandoned he must've felt if he was aware of all this.

My wife got to choose our rewatch tonight since it's her birthday week. Since we saw Good Will Hunting last weekend, she thought dipping back into another Robin Williams classic was a good idea with our kids. Peter Weir has quite the filmography.

Thank you, boys. Thank you.

It's a shame we (probably) won't get another one.

It's funny, though, going through these movies. The first four movies in the DCEU were somewhat connected and trying to build something. After Justice League it just became a bunch of random movies.

Birds of Prey is the only movie out of both DC and Marvel camps that I think is a total fucking blast and have seen more than 2 times and would gladly watch many more times. :O

Speaking of movies I could watch over and over again (which is honestly not many) I finally got around to having my SO and roommate catch up on Cuckoo. This one tickles me so much. Easily my preferred NEON summer horror release of 2024. (Sorry, Longlegs, you were fine.)
