It's hard to say. Nintendo had about 25m lined up for production for year one, but with tariff nonsense who can say how that may impact their decision-making? It SHOULD be fairly easy, but then again bots may end up taking a lot of stock. So it's really down to the retailers and their bot prevention.

I didn't have any issues getting a PS5 with a bit of fanatic devotion to forums/twitter for a bit. I don't anticipate struggling too much to get one this week.
If this first pre-order will only be available at 12am EST on 4/24 like I'm seeing, I'll definitely wait for one that isn't on sale at a ridiculous time.

I'm definitely preparing myself to not land a pre-order. it'll be annoying for a life-long Nintendo fan like myself, but will be a nice surprise if I can.

the way things go with bots and scalpers I'm expecting a shit show... hopefully the pre-orders direct from Nintendo, which start in May, will be a backup if I didn't get a pre-order this week

They have more planned to ship in year 1 than any other console has. PS5 was limited by supply chain nonsense. It was fairly easy to get a Switch 1 at launch, I expect it'll be similar.

Retailers SHOULD just force in-store pre orders to bypass a lot of the scalping bullshit, at least for the first wave. It would go a long way to eliminating the secondary market. But they won't because they love moving as many units as bots buy.

I'm wondering if my best bet for a Switch 2 will be going into GameStop to pre-order one when they open at 11:00am instead of hoping online pre-orders didn't sell out by the time I wake up as I'm not wanting to be up at midnight for a pre-order.
