This is one of the hardest Mario levels I’ve ever played. Wonder is a fairly easy game but this one…. I hate it. There were some moons from Odyssey that were tricky but nothing like this 😤

This one was the absolute worst, I agree.
No point going for everything on one run...you pretty much have to focus on simply completing it in one run, then do multiple runs to grab each individual item, die, and grab the next one. I spent several hours doing this.

As frustrating as this one is as far as platformers go...there are several levels on Astro Bot that are way worse (triangle/square/circle/x levels mainly).

oh I straight up do not care about the flower coins on levels like this. If I'm able to grab everything great, but no way I'm going to try it again.

I managed to beat it yesterday after only about 5 tries. I think it took me well over 100 attempts in total. Nabbit with the Floating High Jump did it for me. I beat the game yesterday and missed about 4 wonder seeds that I didn't feel like getting. Managed to beat all of the special world levels with all the seeds. This one was BY FAR the hardest out of all of the special world levels.

This moon from Odyssey may have been trickier to nail the long jumps in succession perfectly, but that level from Wonder was way more frustrating.

I don't honestly think I ever had a true challenge on Odyssey. I kind of wish it was a bit harder tbh but the exploration was super fun.

That moon was the hardest one out of all of them by far as well. I really, really enjoyed Odyssey overall. Completely deserving of all the acclaim, and maybe one of, if not the best Mario game ever. I loved how after beating the game there were bonus moons in each world that made you revisit each in a fun way that didn't feel like backtracking just for the sake of it. I probably spent an equal amount of time before and after I "beat the game" playing.

It was definitely a great game, one I truly enjoyed. I just wish there was more of a challenge there.

I get Nintendo wants to make games accessible to younger audiences and fun for older ones too...I just felt with Odyssey they could've made some more challenge for the older ones. Some Mario games have challenging hidden levels for the completionists and I felt like it could've maybe used more of that. Even optional stuff was pretty easy to attain with minimal frustration.

Contrast that to Astro Bot (I contend this is one of the best platformers in years), and it's pretty easy to complete the main quest, whereas there are a TON of hidden levels that range from hard to controller throwing difficult. Even completing all the collectables in the main levels sometimes have you scratching your head. To me they struck a perfect balance for all skill levels.

that one was bad, but I feel like there's an even worse level at the very end, but don't want to spoil if you're not there yet

Was going to play Avowed after finishing Nine Sols, but realized there was an older first person game still sitting on my computer: Stalker 2. Gotta say, the patches have improved things considerably. No more slideshow except for one instance after advancing the story in the second major "town" but it was only one time and stopped on subsequent visits. Enemy intelligence seems improved too, stealth works a little better and enemies aren't spotting me from 3 miles away anymore. Finding artifacts seems to be improved as well, don't have instances of standing right on the thing without it showing up. I did have one instance with the artifact that spawns a bunch of fake clones and hits you with psy effects where the actual one spawned in one of the rocks, but from what I read I should be able to go back later and get it.

Games a lot of fun if you're into this sort of thing. It's brutal, danger's always around the corner, and it's real easy to die. That being said, at least with human enemies, it's real easy to kill too. A well placed headshot's going to do what it should typically. Helmets might save them the first round or two, but not much after that. May get harder later on, not sure. I'm currently exploring the eastern regions of the map. I play this just like Fallout; pick a direction, go check stuff out. Loot way too much and then hobble my way back to a shop. Maybe hit a story beat or a side quest along the way.

Got 100+ hours into Elden Ring, beat Rhadan and the burned out. Continue chipping away at Cult of Lamb during that same time frame and would recommend it to anyone.

Tried picking up Alan Wake 2. Love Remedy's other games but it's failing to click. Granted I'm early.

Thinking about replaying LoU2 instead so that it's fresh as the TV episodes drop.

Thought the 1st episode was solid but kinda hated them immediately revealing Abby's motivations.
