any tips on how to remove price sticker residue from an album cover?

you can use zippo lighter fluid or charcoal fluid i pour just enough to soak a q-tip cotton swab into a shot glass.then apply to price label let soak into price label for a few seconds then remove price sticker residue with other end of cotton swab or a napkin, applying once/twice gets the job done.these fluids are highly flammable so use safety/caution when using this method in general.

Hair dryer sometimes works! That’s what I usually use to get the stickers off originally. But take the record out first so it’s not exposed to the heat

I've used zippo lighter fluid for years. Goo Gone can potentially stain, so I don't use it....unless they have changed the formula.

With that said, if you're hitting the tourist checklist, you may very well find yourself at Fremont. 11th Street is a quick walk from the tourist area and some of the shops in that area are cool.

@Baby thee Diaper that’s a fair statement. One could always try Moondog Records or Wax Trax Records for something unique with median to high Discogs pricing.

I haven't been to Moondog in a few years (I think they've since moved? They were near UNLV at the time). I did appreciate the owner willing to spin any records I was interested in on the store system.
Anyone know a thing or two about comic books and superman in particular? Looking to pick up a comic book for a friend as a gift and need some advice.
Why is it so hard to get a copy of Pharoah Sanders - Karma? 😭 I feel like someone should be repressing this.

For some reason, Pharoah LPs that I see in the wild are always beat up. I bought an OG Karma last year for $1… it plays without skipping but is G+ at best [edit: I just played it this AM and it’s more of a VG. Either way, my point is that those are hard to find in pristine condition, so I agree a reissue would be great.]

@bettim84 I'd gladly take a beat up copy at this point - even those are do expensive though.
You guys ever had an issue where you closed a credit card account and now some vendor issues you a refund attributed to that credit card. Would that get processed some other way?

Perhaps the vendor can reverse the credit and issue you a check? Or call the credit card company and see what they recommend...they likely have the credit and can issue a check as well.

This has happened to be w/ Chase. It showed as a credit on my chase card and they cut me a check for the positive balance.
Where to start with Fela? I love the few albums I've heard over the years but never gone deeper. Album/compilations/collabs/pressing recommendations etc.appreciated. Will they ever reissue the box Questlove curated?
So I've seen this chair in a few insta posts now so I tried to find out what it is. Looks like it would be nice and cozy, make a nice addition to the listening space..wait a minute WTF..8000€!!?!! :|

You are looking it it wrong. It’s €4000 per butt cheek. Sounds cheaper that way.

@djdavedk yes probably a knockoff. you can typically tell because the legit ones have no visible hardware. You can't see any screws or anything. i have a 70's knockoff but its just not very comfy anymore. By the time I pay to get it refoamed + reupholstered, probably not worth it!

I rummaged 2 Herman Miller/Eames molded plastic chairs from my old Uni dept when they were to dispose them. Seriously! Here's a pic of the model. How do I upload my own pics in these threads? Mine have more wear but they're really great.

3 for 2? More like 15 for 10...I'm in so much trouble
Regarding Mingus Ah Um, do you guys recommend the redux or is there a great sounding non deluxe pressing around?
Oh man I'm really happy to have found out about Fontaines DC but I'm also really disappointed to have found out about them only now. Would you guys recommend chasing a coloured pressing or the 2LP for Hero's Death?

Great band! I have the stormy blue and it sounds great. I've heard really good things on here about the 2x45 version as well. The limited pressings are good, but's really up to you whether it's worth it to get a collectible version or not.

I'll say this though: I have a 1st pressing of the first LP on translucent yellow and that one is noisy and clicky. Though I'm not sure if I just got unlucky with a mediocre copy.

Just grabbed a stormy blue, hope it gets fulfilled. If not I'll look out for the 2LP I think.

I'm assuming there's no good sounding pressing of Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy out there right? Almost 10 years old and was hoping for a good anniversary edition that was remastered.
What are the recommendations for good rage against the machine pressings without needing to spend much?
Got caught playing a game of chicken with an eBay seller - lowballed an offer which they accepted, then decided to try going even lower on a second item which they also accepted - I proceeded to do this a few more times.....looks like I just bought 7 records :|
Has anyone got the Definitely Maybe 25 Silver Pressing and care to comment on sound / mastering quality? @Joe Mac ?

I have the 2014 on black which means 20th, so if it's the same master then I guess I'll only be "upgrading" on colour. That's a shame, Ive heard the OG is the only way to go if you want no compression.

The OG has no compression? Are you sure? They went through 2 sessions that were rejected because the music sounded “weedy” in comparison to their big love sound. They brought Owen Morris in for the third session and he beefed up the sound by brick walling the shit out of the whole thing while mixing. Everyone loved it. The 90s and cocaine 🙄. I’d thought that affected all vinyl issues, even the OG.

I thought I had read somewhere that the original creation pressing was good. I can't find that anymore but if they're all equal (equally bad) I'm happy not have to spend big on the OG.
I updated my excel list (I don't recommend doing this) and it looks like I added 75 records this year so far (don't ask how much I've spent). I really think it's 25 more than I should have. What's a sustainable number/goal?
