  • It's 2020 and I finally have upgraded the music playing in my car. I can finally now just stream. So, goodbye to many of my many, many CDs. I just have too many. No space. Hope there's not some CD revival in a few years.
Had stomach bug Saturday, continued uncomfortable feels Sunday, and now I’m back to truly feeling like one movement of my body will make me throw up. I am being punished for something. What? I don’t know.

Take care of yourself, duder. Flu ain’t nothing to mess with.
It’s been only 8 months, but I’ll be back in Disneyworld yet again next Friday. Counting down...

It’s more of a recent obsession, well, maybe not obsession but close to it, for me. Hadn’t been in decades till a few years ago then made it a point to save up and go this year. Coincidentally, right after that trip we were invited to go again for a few days, so couldn’t pass that up.
My girlfriend and I bought a Nintendo Switch today along with Luigi's Mansion 3 and yeah this is the best co-christmas gift we gave ourselves.

My daughter got one with luigi Mansion and many other games for Christmas. Being an owner of a ps4 & xbox one I wasnt really expecting to be impressed at all but my god what a fantastic piece of kit this switch is. Really recommend Zelda Breath of the wild too its phenomenal

I keep wanting to do this but I don’t think my 3yo and 5yo are of age yet?

@debianlinux i don’t know. Probably too young for a game like this but I’d imagine there are some that a 5yo could get into. Or you can do it for yourself and they can watch. It’s a super fun system.

Kacey Musgraves Christmas album might very well be my favorite Christmas LP. Lots of listening today.
For the second time within 3 months or so, Amazon (warehouse) sent me a record with no box, just a label stuck to the record. Last time they didn’t give me anything back. This time I’m getting a replacement sent and I’m going to ship this one back the same way it came to me - NO BOX.

I got a record once that had been completely destroyed in shipment such that the mailer was shredded and the disc was shattered in pieces. They still made me send it back, and when I mentioned I didn't even have the option of packing it in their box, they suggested I use an empty cereal box instead.

@Heath what? That's crazy. I have also gotten one that was shattered and they wanted me to send it back. And I said "but it's in pieces" and eventually they just let me keep it (throw it away) and sent me a new one. Lately though, their customer service has been awful in my experience.

I found the smallest cereal box I could, and folded the jacket in half to put it in the box. Obviously this served no purpose, because it's not like the person who received the return was the same person who told me to do that, but it sure made me feel better.
joined Secretly Society. Wanted a new record club, so here we are. It was only a matter of time.
Anyone at the record store today wanna help me out?? I just made it to the store and couldn’t get what I wanted. The National’s live cassette set. Is there any way someone could pick me one up?? I would be so thankful!
So VMP is definitely in danger of not being in business within a year, right? With all the changes I can’t imagine it being successful long term. They really fucked themselves up.

Most of their subscribers probably don't notice this stuff though. The delays, maybe, but I think only a minority shop the store, etc. Most folks just wait for a monthly record to show up. Plus, this is like the 800th shitshow from them and a lot of people complaining here still subscribe. I don't think this stuff hurts them as much as some might wish.

This is the part I don't get. At all. How many more ways does this brompany have to mess up for people to get it?
Although, it does make the work day highly entertaining.

To be clear I didn't mean here specifically on this post, just here on the forum and Reddit in general. I don't think they do a terrible job for the average subscriber, it's just too bad that they're so weak taking care of the folks who spend the most with them.
Got tickets for Hamilton next year! But shh...it’s a Christmas present for my girlfriend (and me).
I do really like this Watchmen score. But my biggest question is still, will The Social Network ever be repressed? Cause I needs it
Working 3 hours tomorrow morning then headed to Atlanta for a live Judge John Hodgman (his podcast where he rules on small disputes). Yes it’s probably the nerdiest event I’ve been to, but I’m okay with that.
So apparently the consensus is that Three Futures, the last Torres album, is bad. Personally I love it, listen to it regularly. But hey if she changes it up for the new one, I’ll be ready.
