In the process of my first purge through the end of the year I don’t want to have anything that I won’t listen to because of poor condition as well as needless duplicates.

Cleaning a “rare” psych record for 40 minutes when it looks like someone played it with 800 grit sandpiper ...... or the hubris that comes it’s an ultrasonic cleaner.Spinning “Tommy” for the first time. U.S. Decca repress.I was hopeful that I could listen to cd’s without my ears hurting unfortunately it seems so far that they do so I guess I’m sticking with predominately vinyl for good.I’d just like to say how thankful I am for this forum and the community I’m apart of here, life has its ups and downs but it always on the up here.Finally added a CD player to the setupI love the old school record store owner pricing scenario when I hear “ yeah it’s worth more but I don’t really care about that album,artist, etc.” definitely works in my favor often.More excited initially to listen to them then the other records I bought
Hit my favorite record store, looked at the free bins outside as I was leaving which was full of 10” jazz and classical recordsOne year and a couple thousand records later, I think I should’ve bought cd’s.Serious question, do you ever receive new records that aren’t warped? I can’t think of the last new record I bought that wasn’t including four mofi’s.Is there a “depression” thread like on the old forum I skimmed the miscellaneous section but didn’t see oneReceived my replacement MFSL ud 1 step only to discover that it is also warped.Really digging “Genie In My Soul” Gene Harris TrioDecided to dip into my mostly un-spun DG collection, now I hear how much better my new ELAC 5.2 sound.Would like to mention mofi has great customer service, I was critical about receiving less then flat records in my ud1 step but they have already shipped replacement disk and jackets which I find pretty quick considering it is a “limited” release.Pulled the trigger on a pair of Elac Debut Towers ! Stereo Integrated Amp is the next big decision.Shame on FedEx for using the usps to do final delivery and no longer giving me status updates or a new tracking number and shame on the usps for still not having delivered my mofi blood on the tracks.Only a few more days until my Bob MFSL ultra disk one step arrives! I doubt it will sound much better if at all then my original on my setup but I told myself I’d pull the trigger on any Dylan releases.Excited for my MFSL “Blood On The Tracks” that should be shipping soon. -
