  • So 2 people I worked with recently have confirmed positive covid tests...one I worked with just this past Monday night...she tested positive on Wednesday. I spent most of the 12 hour shift no more than 4 feet from her all night. Now question if anything I feel is a Covid symptom...otherwise I feel fine. I truly think at this point I'm immune.

Something similar happened to me last month with a friend who I later found out was NOT Vaxxed :cautious:, but I isolated for 3 days and was perfectly fine and didn't get it again

My buddy got it and his wife who just continued life assuming she’d inevitably get it from him so she isolated with him never actually got it or tested positive. Crazy.

So...an update on that Jack White record. It seems I must have pre-ordered a black copy when I ordered Fear Of The Dawn Screen Printed jacket back in April. I had no other shipping notice on that black variant....and the last 2 tracking digits on the box was "92", same as the one I was expecting, so I guess I'm getting the fancy version today.
Finally got my Vault exclusive variant of the new Jack White - only to see they sent me the regular black variant. Color isn't a big deal, but I could have had this copy on the day it was released if I wanted it. - and I paid about 5 bucks more for it. I wrote them an email.
Found out last night/this morning that a friend from college killed himself last month. I wasn't really in touch with him other than some Facebook/Myspace likes in the last 20+ years, but it is still an odd feeling.
Woke up to the left channel of the pre-amp on the Marantz 2245 not sounding great at all. The AUX works fine, as I forgot I had Spotify playing on my old iPad all night long. Hooked up the old Pluto pre-amp for now....but I need to get a better one. And since I'm not using the AUX in - I need to get a line-in switch for my tape and cd player.
Wide awake and ready to spin some records and Discogs release pages aren't loading at all. Seems to be a widespread issue.
the forum search seems off tonight.

seems to be working now. I was getting the "too short, too long" errors - and then nothing was being found.
day #2 with this migraine....I think I may need to finally see a doctor about these considering I'm starting a new job at the hospital in 2 weeks where I stare at computer monitors all night long.

I was getting 3-4 migraines a month but each migraine was lasting days. I found a neurologist that specializes in migraines. I have been on a daily medication for over five years and it’s been great.

It doesn’t work 100% of the time but I get a migraine a few times a year which is much better than where I was before.
Gotta get my pre-order in for delivery in 2023!!!???

Got one of my Tool box sets in this morning. The MRP box it shipped in was trashed. The box isn't too bad, but does have a wrinkle in the front corner. Good thing I bought a 2nd one of these from Amazon. I may wait until that one arrives to see if it's better...and just play whichever one is worse.

I only bought the 2nd from Amazon when I got an email from the first seller saying they were getting their order halved, so I thought I'd have a back up, just in case.

It could have been MUCH worse...the shipping box was open on one side and the box set could have fallen out. That's how I got it out of the box.

I had to pack my store’s order for those, and I ended up having to take them out of the MRP box, brace with bubble wrap, and folding + tapping over the boxes, which was a pain in the butt, but it was sturdy and safe!

I love movies...but haven't given a shit about the oscars in quite some time. And the way they are now treating some categories like best score seems pretty shady...but at least we can replace that time with the same bad jokes and people getting slapped.
I feels a bit weird pre-ordering something in March for a December release date...and knowing it will probably still be released later than that.
I get people leaving Spotify, but I can't really be bothered. It's the same thing about Comcast still carrying Fox News, but I still have Comcast internet.

I don't watch Fox News, I don't listen to Joe Rogan.

The biggest issue I have is how I'll feel when I binge watch Newsradio next.

Yeah physical media is by far and away the way forward if you want artists to actually make money from your purchase/plays. I wish it was possible to wipe YouTube off the face of the earth though, they pay literally zero unless you have over a certain amount of follower/plays, I can’t remember which. Not sure how the premium version works though!

To clarify, I'm not putting Neil Young or Joni Mitchell on spotify to circumvent them nor was I suggesting anything illegal btw. I would say if you want to support your favorite artist - streaming isn't really the best option. Most people stream for the convenience - if you want to support your favorite artist, I would look at other options.

@highqualityrecords i have qobuz and cosign using them as well. it's a good streaming platform and the audio quality is great especially if you're on wifi at home and set it to highest quality. I usually rip the CDs I own and try to buy vinyl from bandcamp when I can since it includes high-res downloads too.
Went to work for my first night on modified/light duty, and they didn't have any of my paperwork that I was on light duty. So they sent me home. That really sucks for my co-workers, as I could do some other non-patient care stuff that they can't get to but still needs to be done.

That sucks. Speaking as an admin, I’ve had to send folks home to for various reasons due to duty issues…

What really sucks is that the medical aide said they email the Worker's Comp guy a .pdf of my work release, he wasn't going to give me a copy but I asked for one anyway for my records. I thought about bringing it to work just in case, but I was told that it is done this way. And this is my hospital's own occupational medicine clinic....he knew to email it to "Steve".

Yeah. I always ask my staff to bring me/email me copies of things they get from occupational to prevent this type of mishap.
