    Been spending a lot of time catching up on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with the wife, and I swear there's a Blossom Dearie song in every episode (which I love) haha I always pause it to see what the song is and my wife is so used to it now, she just says, yes, I'm sure it's Blossom 🤣

    Also, @TheMythOfSisyphus I'm a cradle Catholic, and I nearly died at the line, "Ingrid, dear, too Catholic" when the brother's wife was atoning in temple.

    @nolalady Funny enough, I've been to Catholic services a handful of times and, the whole messiah schism notwithstanding, I feel very at home at the services. I feel like Jews & Catholics are both really tuned into guilt and solemn despair in their liturgical offerings. Unless we're talking Reform Jews...they're more like ecumenical Protestants.

    Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends is one of my favorite albums and is being remastered for vinyl and pressed on a "color that didn’t exist before – iridescent color-morphing green and black. It will change appearance when held up to the light." Well, I guess I'm buying it haha curious how that color will turn out.

    @Chucktshoes yeah, I struggle with that too haha I have gotten better about it and sold off a lot of records I had just for collection purposes. I'll probably end up comparing this to one of the pressings I already have and deciding it's the same and selling it; if history repeats itself it'll probably be to you...:LOL::LOL:

    It’s just the bog standard black one. Is it the best sounding record I have, no. It’s not the best sounding cd I have either. I don’t expect it to be either. It was recorded cheaply by kids just trying to get their music out there. The rawness and urgency are what sound great.

    There is a super cool shop on Daytona Beach called Atlantic Records and CDs or something. It's been there for forever, but that is like over an hour away

    Listening to Swing Down Chariot by Rufus & Chaka Kahn and Mothership Connection (Star Child) by Parliament got me to look into that song's origin (late 1800s spiritual), history (many covers) and evolution ("humorous version") and where it's been interpolated (Parliament) and sampled (Dr. Dre) in other songs. It's amazing to hear the track's evolution through time, so much so to me I created a playlist...

    I having been digging through samples/breakbeats quite a bit since reading The Beastie Boys Book. A fun read if you are interested in that sort of thing (or the history of the Beastie Boys or NYC Hip-Hop Culture or 90's hip-hop).

    Anyone been to a Kacey Musgraves show, or one at Wolf Trap in VA? My wife and I have tickets to take our 3 daughters (ages 11, 7 and 5) to her show there next month because we all absolutely love all of her stuff, but are second guessing it since we have lawn seats and are worried about them not being able to see and being surrounded by drunk people. Any insight?

    I took an hour out of my day to listen to Revenge of the Dreamers 3, and let me say there are some really good tracks on here. There’s a lot of filler with this thing being 18 songs long though, so I don’t think I’ll ever revisit it as a full album.

    I mean, it's avaliable to the public from VMP. You don't have to be a member. They worked with Mariah on this, I wouldn't be surprised if it truly remained a VMP exclusive for a while.

    She’s too diva and big time for this to remain vmp exclusive for a super long time. Get it now if you want it. I’d be willing to bet the house it gets a standard release (minimum) elsewhere.

    Looking for ebay advice: I sold a bootleg Kanye record on there because I thought it sounded terrible, but knew others might still want it. The buyer messaged me asking for a refund because it sounds terrible. The jacket and record were in NM condition as described, there's nothing I can do about the pressing quality. My listing says "As is, returns not accepted" right in it. I also used the words European Import...

    I'll admit eBay is a cluster, but in both my instances everything was spelled out in B/W, eBay sided with me and no negative feedback showed up on my account.

    Does anybody know details on this 3xLP boot of Kanye West - Graduation? I listened to my copy from 5 years ago and realized it has so much surface noise I couldn't stand to listen to it. Listed it for sale and found the 3xLP that had to come from different plates. Says it's 2019, anyone know where it came from or have it? Any idea how it sounds?
